Something that confounds my kid

An old-timey phone with buttons you have to reeeeeaaaaally push. He never questioned why it was planted in the middle of the sidewalk or whether it was connected to someone somewhere on a party line or if it was simply street art, just why it has a cord. And what happens when you press these big, sticky-uppy buttons? And are you kidding that this is like the phone you had growing up?
