Taking the day off

Easter07_039
...to be Parent of the Day in Lil E's co-op classroom. It is the last day before a looooong, stretched out summer break (gulp). Usually, Bruce works our Parent of the Day gigs so I can have the time to work.  These work days have rendered him the "Toddler Whisperer" title among the swooning mommies not used to seeing a daddy herd small children and pass out graham crackers.

But today, I am putting the posting aside so I can suit my boy up for Beach Day and soak up some of the squealing, blankie-stealing and snack-hording that goes on his class.  We'll be having lunch picnic-style outside and then turning the hose and sprinklers on the kids, a perfect end to what has promised to be a 92-degree day and to a kooky/wonderful year that I'm surprisingly (or maybe not so) sentimental to say good-bye to my beloved mommy cult co-op this afternoon.

I'll meet you back here tomorrow to switch back to mama topics and spill the details of last night's burlesque class revelation. See you then!

today is our last day of preschool as well. Complete with 6:30 p.m. graduation/open house/end of the year party. I'm sad that this year is gone, yet so proud of all of his growth. But, the truth is we all LOVE summer!!! pool party!
