Out of the womb, into the interwebs
Meet my nephew, so new that everyone still wants to sit next to him at family dinners, so precious that he has the ability to make my ovaries flip 798 miles away.
This is sweet Baby J, now 27 days old and waiting, bright-eyed and beautiful and patiently for Lil E and I to wrap ourselves around him without letting go for five days of our spring break trip to see him. He may love us a little less after we affix our lips and tickle fingers to his fresh and powdery skin, but we are preparing ourselves for that. We can live with that. OK, we can live with a little less love in return. Not a lot, but a teensy bit.
Until we get there, Lil E's baby cousin is spending some of his snoozing and waking hours bundled in this pretty sling (and I love this) that is an easy pouch that fits mama and snaps to adjust for his papa to wear too. Since a sling was, hands down (and up...and carrying lukewarm tea and half a glass of wine and the New York Times crossword puzzle until inevitable completion) the baby gear I owned (and I owned plenty of them), it makes me so so so happy that Baby J and his parents are loving it as well.
I bought (yes, with real money) this one from my favorite sling-fashioner, Hotslings. Although I'm not AP-nutty (more power to you if you are), this one is AP-nuttable. I adore the super-soft and durable fabrics in pretty, pretty prints. But most of all, I love that baybayyyy who is sleeping in it.
For now. Because once I get there, I am so wrangling that kid out of there, into my arms and in front of my camera.
Say hello. I think we're keeping this kid.
